IS COCONUT GOOD FOR HEART? EFFECTS OF COCONUT ON CHOLESTEROL.

  Is coconut good for health or reducing cholesterol?
There are biased arguments about coconut and its adverse effects on heart or health, besides some websites boasts coconut actually improves the HDL ( High Density Lipo  Protein) levels, which is good for heart. But compare the saturated fat levels in different sources, Coconut oil is nearly 90% with saturated fat, Lard with 40% saturated fat and beef fat is about 40% saturated fat.Even butter has 64% saturated fat.So Coconut has highest amount of saturated fat.

One argument is cholesterol comes from animal based oils or fats but not from plant based or fruits and nuts based oils.LDL cholesterol which is known as bad cholesterol is increased with saturated fats, as too much percentage of saturated fat is from coconut oil it definitely increases the bad cholesterol however it helps increase the HDL ( good cholesterol)the ratio of how much it increases HDL to increase of LDL should alsobe considered. Coconut oil or coconut loving people take one positive point as an excuse to consume more coconut will not be spared by increase of cholesterol ( which is no one giving guarantee about it!). Hence it is wise to be away from using excessive saturated fats. Simple reason is we cannot claim our life after we die with increased cholesterol or what so ever the reason based on biased or scientific and non scientific arguments.
One website says higher amount of usage of coconut oil and coconut products used areas such as some states of India like Kerala reported less heat attack rates while one website gives the evidences of study conducted on people of Singapore and Hong Kong found that Singapore residents suffered 3 times heart attacks and a reason or factor that researchers blamed for the higher the rate of heart attacks is due to higher consumption of coconut oil and coconut products ! So my question is how people take this? Is it based on Kerala population or Singapore population? One who did not read the other website may believe it is established with research that coconut is good, but please don't get carried away with  words like "secret food", " goodies","healthy coconut tips"  etc etc.. they look often believing but cannot believe one study which is done for shorter time and shorter population. The reasons which may keep people healthy at one place may be knitted with other reasons such as their life style and may be they are consuming coconuts or coconut oils with variety of vegetables, fruits or fish. The usage of such products may propelled the good side of increased heart health while suppressing the bad side of the health by usage of coconut. So just with that one cannot go or trust it is 100% scientifically and universally established fact. It is biased argument. Who can give you the right advice if coconut oil or products are useful or not is your doctor, he can advice how much and to what extent you can consume. So don't ever fall into trap of this cyber trap. This is only a personal opinion or supporting one side of biased opinion.

One more comparison here 10g of saturated fat found from 100g of coconut milk, while 2.3g of saturated fat is found from 100ml of reduced fat cow milk. Coconut is dominant with almost 90% with saturated fat but saturated fats are mostly found in animal food which are known for heart diseases but we cannot rule out that there is no danger of using coconut just because it is plant based or nut based. American Heart Association and National Heart foundation recommends avoiding usage of coconut oil, while it includes recipes that of coconut milk reduced-fat version. So it does not mean it is encouraging to use coconut milk, we need to understand the right point what it says.

However there are plus points of usage of coconut as it provide good nutrition and fiber ( known to reduce cholesterol !), Vitamin C, minerals, phosphorous and iron. It has good nutritional value but we should
understand to what extent we can use in daily usage by limits.

FEW NATURAL METHODS TO WEIGHTLOSS, HOW TO AID FASTER WEIGHT LOSS?

It is a very big task for most of us to lose weight.Weight loss can be achieved by systematic monitoring of our food intake and exercises we do or how much physical strain we give to our body to shred excess calories out of our body.

Coming to first thing how our body lose weight faster? It is entirely depends on metabolism. Metabolism the way  our body burns calories.The faster the metabolism,faster our body burns calories. Slower the metabolism, slower it burns calories out of our body, so we tend to retain calories in tact for longer time and not losing weight.


One of noted steps in reducing weight is reduce the food intake in small quantities rather than 2 or 3 whole meals.Instead of having break fast,lunch and dinner try practicing  to take five times a day with less amount of food each time so you feel still much hunger.

Second, avoid  sugar stuff! Avoiding sugar helps you speed up the weight loss process faster and dependable.Sugar adds calories faster than any other food.

Third, change your life style! Changing life style means to take regular exercise, move around more instead of just sitting at work place while on job. Give movement to your body. Take mandate regular morning brisk walk for half an hour atleast.

Fourth, instead of taking complete carbohydrate food, take lean meat food, eggs (eggs are more fat burning food, but take care if you are heart patient).Add more natural green leafy and firbous vegetables half boiled.

Fifth, for non vegetarians stop eating red meat and beef. Instead of that take lean meat,oily fish at least weekly twice in your food.For vegetarians, replace your regular milk tea with green tea or herbal tea.

MY RECENT WEIGHT LOSS WITH LIQUIDS OR WATER FASTING TO LOOSE WEIGHT

Hi dear friends,
after a long time I am back with my new tested content that really worked well when I checked on myself. My belly grown up like a bloated pot in recent times due to some busy schedules of job and there was no time to reduce weight  by exercise or control the weight. At this point of time I started taking little food ( 150 grams of rice being cooked and served in 2 times and daily three chapatis). After few weeks and more than 5 months I found that my weight not reduced a gram ! To my surprise I had put up more weight than I was. I expected this was due to the reason I was not doing physical exercise. May be it is the reason but there is no time in my schedule where as all the time I have is already divided between tasks that are most necessary to earn my bread and butter or earn my living.Of course I can still manage doing thread mill work outs while being with my family but I want single task oriented instead of multitasking as I am already doing multitasking jobs while I am on the job. This made me still to gain weight rather than loose weight. My pot belly started still bigger and there is no way I can reduce it.My brother is a doctor but I am not. He is also obese and above 95 kg. He used to reduce his weight whenever he wants but these days he is unable to do so. He is not seen below 95kg any longer.

People often say that dieting or stop eating the food cannot reduce the weight or loose your belly fat. But I wish to give a try and started thinking of what if go on water fasting along with green tea. I just went around the market and found best available organic green tea which is being supplied to a local ayurvedic medical shop on regular basis. I checked it twice and confirmed that this brand is available on regular basis to make my hobby perfect with single best available green tea. Next I have chosen some other things I did some research online to get rid of fat cellulose around my waist. What I have checked is for good quality natural honey , apple cider vinegar and karakkaya  churnam (  Haritaki  powder or Terminalia chebula powder ). Karakkaya is a telugu name for 'Terminalia chebula' powder has many medicinal uses which includes antibacterial, e Coli terminator , improving the functioning of liver spleen, this is also used in treating mouth ulcers and treating cough , stomach irregularities, bowel regulator and why we use here it is, it also reduces or cleanses the cellulite and fat cells.

Firstly why apple cider vinegar is in list? because when we are on  water fasting it is very normal to have acidic stomach. Some times I felt that it is so sever that I cannot and no more to continue my water fasting due to the acidic stomach and sour throat as  if some acid is being poured into your throat and it is like a ball of acid gets into stomach. To get rid this type of acidity we need to neutralize the acidity of the stomach with apple cider vinegar.I will tell you in details just in a minute about this.

As we go on water fasting first day and second day of fasting will be too tedious and we feel this is impossible. For people who go on normal fasting during the weekends may not feel this much bad because of their regular practice.

Let us jump to the procedure, but before be cautious to check all the ingredients used in this process are suitable for you and double check with your doctor if needed .Be sure you are not allergic to any one of the items used here. I always say these are tested but human body is differently reacts from person to person if they have any abnormalities so my advice is always double check with your doctor and be under doctor supervision if necessary while you are on water fasting.
Coming to the procedure of water fasting , just practice one or two days at a stretch so as to normalize your body to get used to water fasting.

Give two or three days of gap after every one or two days water fasting for five to six times.Once you are comfortable with two days water fasting go for three or four days. Relax your body for three to four more times in between your each of your three or four days water fasting with two  to three days of break. During break time do not accustom  to take huge amounts of food as you have gone on water fasting for all the previous three or four days so you are taking revenge on the food !! Don't do it. Allow little little amounts. While you are taking the food after each and every intake , after 45 minutes to one hour time, do take green tea with lemon and honey. Drink green tea 5 to 6 six cups each day and see that after every one hour of your food intake you take the green tea.

Now let me assume that you are get used to go on fasting with water but nothing else during these days of fasting.Let us feel free that you are much comfortable and tamed your body to go on fasting during the first two months time.
Now on full scale water fasting after you have treated your body to get used to water fasting.
First day start with Lukewarm water in a tumbler/ glass of 200 ml with karakkaya churnam ( Terminalia chebula' powder) with lemon and spoonful of honey. Sip slowly as you are enjoying , how ever you like it or not. Two hours after this take a cup of green tea with lemon and honey. Keep drinking the water whenever you feel  hungry. Divide your entire day into  five equal portions of time to take 5 cups of green tea a day. How to make a green tea ? This can be found in this blog some where with green tea making procedure. Green tea is made of with pre-boiled water not above 90 degrees Celsius. Add a spoon of green tea leaves stir them for two minutes. Now you can see that green tea leaves settle at the bottom which were floating when you added them. Take away this water add cinnamon powder ( this is good reducer of cellulite) or honey with lemon.

Continue the water fasting for 5, 7, 8,  ....... 12 days. you can see your belly cellulose disappearing and a rubber like sagging empty skin which was part of pot belly is clearly seen. I made this practice for three months with gaps of three to four days and fasting for 7 to 14 days continuously each time. each day  there was tremendous change in weight from morning to the evening !

JUST FEW Don't s : 
1. Do not add milk  or sugar to your green tea.
2. Do not add too hot water to honey.
3. Do not add salt, this is fat retainer in cells which in turn results in stubborn fat to accumulate in body.
4. In break times of fasting do not add up creams, high cholesterol foods.
5. Do not take fries, roasted items and go vegan.
6.Do not continue fasting if you feel totally run down and can't withstand as per plan.
7. Do not eat short eats or fat eats after meals during non fasting days.

This works better to loose fat belly, cellulite of belly disappears. Never again believe that cellulite of pot belly cannot be lost with ease.  It is just easy but you should take it as challenge.

How to TRIM YOUR WAIST  fast and LOOSE FAT FAST ?

This is very brain churning question as trimming the waist line is more tedious job  and it is ever challenging quest for most of women ! A planned work schedule with Ayurvedic medicines usage it can be an easy task.
First let us work out how to trim  your waist with dropping the foods and activities that buildup the waist line.
Why I am saying is this because people think first how to reduce belly or how to reduce waist or how to lose fat kind of things by thinking to consume a medicine or supplement but they don't think first how to stop adding those extra calories or fat supplies that are being getting stored because of excess supply we don't churn out in workouts or work. So first things first to reduce fat or reduce belly or reduce waist line first think what goes into buildup of the waist line and how to stop building up then think of how to reduce it in second step.
HERE ARE THE THINGS or FOOD JUST AVOID FOR THIN WAIST :
Coming to the first point  to reduce the waist line, as I said above , just reduce the intake of food , fat, meat, cholesterol stuff, junk food, oil stuffs, ice creams, sweets, sugars, carbohydrates and food without fiber.As per Ayurveda fat is being related to KAPHA DOSHA  and Medha. The foods as stated above should be avoided along with over sleep, idle postures or idle jobs also increase your waist line. If you are doing idle jobs better start moving out of your seat and keep walking and rotating the waist line and kind of excercises. During your stay at home, you can practice soft ball exercises. Instead of taking natural sugar tea and coffee take green tea with honey. Instead of taking normal water take warm water. Stop drinking cool water or refrigerated water. Avoid junk food or fast food which is not good for waist. Do not make a hobby of taking alcohols or sweetened beverages as your life style. This kind of life style attributes to fat tummy or fat waist which you cannot loose so easily. Most important thing NEVER NEVER EVER TAKE MORE SALT. Salt is the ingredient that stores the water in blood cells which you cannot get rid of it. Salt is the one which increases cellulite in waist line so it cannot be lost fast.If you love potato chips or such snack stuff just stop it if you want to take care of your waist line.Stop taking pastries and desserts. Don't ever eat banana which is high in calories. Eat less sweetened fruit such as Apple. Do not over sleep. Do not sleep in irregular times.Do not take food at irregular times.Avoid  fired food stuff. Never skip breakfast in the name of dieting this will result in adverse effects.

WHAT WORKS GOOD FOR SLIM THIN WAIST ? WHAT TO EAT FOR THIN AND SLIM WAIST?

What to avoid and what not to eat is discussed above. Let us come to the point what to eat and what to do lose fat along waist and make thin waist.  Just as said make changes to food habits given below:
*        Drink hot or warm water.
*        Eat whole grams instead of  grains without coverings.
*        Eat protein rich food but not carbohydrate rich food.
*        Add cinnamon sticks replacing  your regular hobby of chewing gums.
*        Take black pepper in food stuff.
*        Drink green tea with honey in place of tea and coffee.
*        Take "THRIPHALA CHURNA", an ayurvedic medicine, with honey after every meal in hot water.
*        Massage your belly with Lavana Thailam , an oil that reduces fat on massaging, regularly on your waist.
*        Exercise regularly morning and evening for 45 minutes each straining the waist rotating the hip, waist line and moving hands to left and right standing , keep legs three feet apart.
*        Do soft ball exercises.
*        Reduce the food intake by 40% and  take this food divided  into  more times in small portions.
*        Take whole grain bread instead of normal bread.
*        Eat raw vegetables such as cucumber, carrot cabbage,tomato and beetroot rather than fried and cooked.
*        Take raw garlic cloves with  lemon water of mild hot or warm ( don't add sugar or salt but you can add honey ).
*         Take two carrots, one cinnamon stick of one inch length ten black peppers put these in 150ml of buttermilk prepare a drink in juice maker. Drink this with one lemon juice everyday morning and evening at 5mp or after tired work schedule. This will reduce your weight drastically and  adds extra points to reducing effort for thin waist line.
*         Eat sprouted beans and lentils.

EYE CARE C.V.S AND HOW TO AVOID IT ?


 EYE CARE WITH AYURVEDA


 There is a proverb in Ayurveda “ Sarvendriyam nayanam pradhanam” meaning eyes are the most important among all our senses. Taking care of eyes should be on regular basis.

 Eye care is most important and every body should have a regular plan to take care of them. Regular usage of computers, addicting to the television and regular journeys in bus and bikes are the other reasons why they need to be taken care.  Ayurveda suggests many “chitkas” ( simple cures) to prevent  damage to eyes.

Those who have visual defects must visit the eye specialist twice in a year. Negligence of eye care results in vision loss at earlier stage which makes the life as hell.

SOME COMMON PRECAUTIONS  FOR  BETTER  EYE SIGHT :


1.   Ayurveda says “early to bed and early to rise”. By 9:00pm or 9:30pm, one should plan to go to bed and wake up in the morning 4:00am or 4:30am or at least before 5:00am. As early as you wake up in the morning take cool water into  clean hands and wash thoroughly your eyes. This makes eyes fresh.

2.     Wash your eyes many times as you can in a day with cool water.

3.     While going out  in a hot sunny day, wear better quality goggles  that can filter UV ( Ultra violet) rays and Infra Red rays.

4.     Do not over strain your eyes by keep on watching regularly without blinking eyes.

5.     While working on long hours take rest for about 10 to 15 minutes by closing your eyes or do some meditation for every 3 hours.

6.     If you are working with a computer there is an ample chance of becoming a victim of CVS ( Computer Vision Syndrome ). To avoid this adjust the brightness of the computer screen so as to work comfortably. Keep 35cm to 50 cm distance from the computer. If you are working with word or PDF files magnify the size of letter. If you are working with internet browsers, go to Menu bar -> View -> Text size -> larger (select it) this makes text is seen in  large size so that you can read it from little more distance to avoid radiation.

         Some times some websites may have smaller text size, do not lean on the screen and try to read the smaller text / fine print of sales copy etc. Just press “Ctrl” and “+” together this makes your screen text larger to read. You can do this until the desired text size come to readable format. If your web page text size looks too large then you can reduce the size of the text with “Ctrl” and “-“ together.

7.     To avoid CVS which ,may be identified by symptoms such as dry eyes or irritation / itching eye lids with blurriness or double vision need to do some eye exercises. Following are the few  eye exercises for you to practice and can see the eye specialist for more information .

a)      Close your eyes. Roll the eye balls towards sky then roll them  to downwards to point to the chin. Do this 20 times.
b)      Close your eyes move your eye balls to the left ear and then to the right ear ( slowly ) do this 20 times.
c)      Rotate your eye balls clock wise and anti-clock wise for 20 times each. Do this eyes open and eyes closed too.

d)     Do eye exercises every two hours this helps your eye muscles become stronger  and eye lenses become much more flexible for better vision.

e)      Rotate your eye balls in  “U” or  “Smiley”  directions left to right and right to left ( eyes open ).Your eye balls are moving from top left side to chin (around the chin) and then to the right top and reverse in the same direction for 20 times.

8.     Other precautions include like, do not touch your eyes without  washing your hands cleanly. Do not use hand napkin to clean eyes- you might have used to clean sweat.

9.     Sleep enough hours to rest your eyes for day long work and freshness. Try to break your work in to pieces and in between each break give complete leisure or do meditation. Just relax as if you are sleeping for  10 to 12 minutes. This not only energizes  your eyes but your whole body comes to freshness with recharged body to do more work. Don’t  forget to clean your eyes with fresh cool water preferably mineral water.

10.   Keep your computer screen such a way it is not directly facing at your eyes with 90 degrees. This reduces the effect of direct rays falling on your retina but remember the screen placement should not make it difficult to read or do the work. If you need to work long hours on computer better buy a quality wireless key board and mouse. This enables you to keep yourself distant from the computer. A good quality wireless key board and mouse (Microsoft product) can be bought for Indian Rupees 1200/- or US $ 20, but this saves your eye sight as you are keeping some desired distance to keep away from computer radiation.

11.   Do some research before you buy a desktop computer or laptop or tablet for  low radiation screens.  To avoid CVS  it is important to  take firm decision before you buy a TV or computer. If you have already made a purchase and no other go than to settle with the present TV or computer please buy a  “anti-glare” filter screen or glasses. Keep in mind that for every half an hour of work needs to take a break from your TV or computer for 5 minutes to avoid eye problems.

12.   Maintain good diet rich in vitamin A and minerals.

AYURVEDIC REMEDIES  FOR  EYE PROBLEMS :


   Ayurveda remedies for eye care and eye problems are simple to follow and simple to find.

   As per Ayurveda  dry fruits rich in vitamins improving the vision.
     

  •            Take a fresh cucumber, keep in the refrigerator until it becomes cool. Slice the pieces of cucumber in circular shape, place them over the closed eye lids. Keep it until  you feel coolness of the cucumber pieces is absorbed by eyes. Repeat this daily 3 to  4 times for good relaxation.

  •             Take cotton pad to cover the eye lids , dip in cool milk and place them over the eye lids. Leave  it for 10 to 12 minutes for good results.

  •            Keep cool honey and tomato paste mix over the  eye lids without getting into eyes. Leave it for 20 minutes . Wash with cool water.

  •            Add few drops of cool rose water for cleansing the eye ball surface.

  •             Pure natural honey drop each in eye can cause cleansing of eyes but be cautious to get pure honey without any added impurities. Read the label if it is artificial or natural and also take care  if it has enough credentials for its quality when you buy honey.

  •            Take plenty of carrot, spinach ( palak ), Cabbage in your food intake.

  •             Dip Cotton pads  in cool black tea and place on the closed eye lids , leave for 15 minutes for strain free eyes.

  •             Cut potato and place  over the eye lids. Apply the potato paste under the eye for removing dark circles under the eyes.

SPIRULINA BENEFITS FOR HEALTH,ANTI AGEING AND SKIN

Ayurvedic medicines include a wonderful herb like SPIRULINA.Spirulina helps in anti ageing, skin toning and helps a lot in maintaining youthful life.Adding spirulina powder to the drinks will helps in gaining all goodness of spirulina to elevate the skin texture from within side of our body to give radian glow. Spirulina helps in maintaining metabolism, and maintaining digestive system better.Spirulina has minerals, fatty acids, proteins that can aid the food for the skin.Spirulina got 60% protein as its content that is almost the double the quantity of soy bean ( 26%).It is rich in vitamins B1,B2,B3,B6,B9 and vitamins A,C,D along with vitamin E.

SPIRULINA AS FACE WASH AND FACE SCRUB :

Ingredients :
                   1/2 cup  Olive oil
                   1/4 cup natural yogurt
                   1/2 table spoon Spirulina
                   5 spoons Brown Sugar ( dark )
                    1 table spoon raw oat meal.
         Mix  all the ingredients and  apply on the face. Move your fingers in circular upward motion to clean the spin pores well and clean them. You will find radiant glow in few days.

HOW TO STOP HAIR FALL WITH SPIRULINA ? !
Ingredients :
                     2 whole eggs
                     25 grams fenugreek seed soaked in water for one hour
                     5 table spoons of Avocado oil
                     3grams spirulina powder
                     3 table spoons of pure coconut oil
                     1 table spoon dried hibiscus flower powder
        Beat the whole eggs evenly, grind the pre-soaked fenugreek seed to smooth paste, add remaining        ingredients and batter smoothly to avoid any lumps of powder or paste. Apply on the hair follicles and leave for twenty to thirty minutes. Rinse with cool water. This will enhance  and nourish the hair follicles and avoid premature hair fall as this process supplies the naturally strong food for hair follicles and scalp.

HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT AYURVEDA WAY NATURALLY?

Ayurvedic medicines are proven to give successful and dependable results without side effects.
Ayurveda itself  is the science of life which gives the knowledge of living healthy and be fit. Ayurveda medicines are simple to follow furthermore these are made of organic substances like leaves and herbs.
Following are the quick remedies or tips in Ayurveda for weight loss:
1.       Drink more water, especially hot water because this increases your metabolism also. Hence there is direct relation how much water you drink and how fast you can lose your weight.
2.       Minimize  quantity of food you take at once, instead of having once you make it into two or three portions each with a gap of three to four hours. This causes not to pile up excess calories in your body as it assumes you are going to starve in times to come so the excess quantity of food you take stored as fat in your body which can be released later when you don’t get food. One has to think about the importance of weight loss. If we have an idea whether we are ready to take little spare time for our weight loss program  or not. It is most important factor because one has to frame or change the life style by accepting the necessity of exercise on regular basis in order to lose weight.So there comes a question is it necessary to daily exercise ? So you will try all every thing that is needed to bring back your charming figure. See some day you will gain it back !!
  12. Once achieved, maintain it. Never fall back into the old pit of fat ugly shape again !! Just maintain it !!!
